The Newaygo County Commission on Aging Advisory Board, staff, and volunteers are pleased to present to the citizens of Newaygo County a summary of services provided to the elderly during 2004.

Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP):

72 clients   138 contacts            106 hours (among one staff person who coordinates the program and 2 volunteers)

 

The Senior Clarion:  The Senior Clarion is the County's only newspaper specifically for people age 60 and over.  News articles, listings of services and programs, volunteer opportunities, reader contributions, and feature stories are provided on a monthly basis.  There is no subscription fee.  Over 4700 households currently receive the Senior Clarion and supplies are also provided to various locales around the county for those who are not receiving it but are interested in the information.
